Legitimate Windows 7 says it isn't

Good day:
I bought a HP Pavillion dv4 2045dx which of course has a legitimate version of Windows 7 64bits, but since a few days from now, it keeps saying it is not legitimate. I bought it in Mexico and the laptop is imported. The vendor installs a spanish language component, but tells me that they actually don't reinstall windows, it's supposed to be the exact same legitimate version with the language package, and the license number and hologram are actually there at the base of the computer, and they told me to contact Microsoft if the problem persisted. I went to microsoft's validating site and it says is not legitimate, so I run the diagnosis tool you mentioned in the forum and I pasted the data below. Could it be that since the language package is installed, the tool is saying there's a mismatch with some files because the language is different? I'm really concerned here, because I wouldn't like to reinstall Windows to solve the problem, specially because I believe it would be installed in english again, and I have no problem using an english version of Windows, but my wife does, please help.

Hi,
I believe the problem has to do with the language pack the shop installed. The only version of windows that natively supports language packs is ultimate but there are programs such as Vistalizator that allow the use of language packs, however it alters certain files or replaces them with those from other versions and the software protection platform and the WAT update rejects the changes. I suggest you take the computer back to the shop and have them fix it.
Alternatively you can try uninstalling vistalizator, then run sfc /scannow. After doing those two things, reboot and go to www.microsoft.com/genuine and attempt to validate. Submit a new report after doing the above steps and let us know if you are getting notification.

The problem is sppcomapi.dll
icacls C:\Windows\system32\sppcomapi.dll /grant *S-1-1-0:F try this and go to www.microsoft.com/genuine and attempt to validate
I have a similar issue, DELL system that had Vista business on it, Upgraded to Windows 7 using MSDN MS Partner Win7-Enterprise DVD (company I work for is MS Gold level partner, benefits of which include Win7 upgrades to a substantial number of systems)That system (my workstation) is now giving me the "Update Installation Failed error 0x80070002 error.
Tried the solution you proposed above, opening a CMD window using 'run as administrator' and when I issued the command
icacls C:\Windows\system32\sppcomapi.dll /grant *S-1-1-0:F
I get an error message that 'Access is denied.' and it fails to process the file.. Being as I'm an Admin on the box, running the command as admin, I'm not entirely sure what more can be done to allow myself access to process that file.
Any other ideas? gonna be pretty @#$% annoying if this darn 'genuine' check see's my 100% legal upgrade as if it was a pirated copy and starts turning off functionality

Hello Chuck vdL,
If ""Update Installation Failed error 0x80070002 error" refers to Windows Update, you're in the wrong place.
Post here for help with Windows Updates: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/threads?filter=alltypes

Alternatively you can try uninstalling vistalizator, then run sfc /scannow. After doing those two things, reboot and go to www.microsoft.com/genuine and attempt to validate. Submit a new report after doing the above steps and let us know if you are getting notification.
Before uninstalling the Vistalizator, try to reset the language packs back to how it was originally, that should correct the issue. If that doesn't work (or you don't actually have the Vistalizator program installed), try running the below steps:
First try repairing Windows using System Restore:
1) Reboot Vista into Safe Mode
2) Click the ‘Start’ button
3) In the Start Search field, type: System Restore and hit “Enter” keyboard key
4) Select "Choose Different Restore Point", Put a check in the box that says "Show restore points older than 5 days", select the restore point that corresponds to the date Before you first noticed the issue.
5) Click the "Next" button.
6) Reboot back into Normal mode
7) Vista should no longer be in Reduced Functionality mode
If that doesn't work, try doing a System Scan. The scan will look for bad system files and will attempt to repair them, if possible.
1) Login to Vista in Normal Mode (not safe mode)
2) Launch an Internet Browser
3) Type: %windir%\system32\ in the browser's address field
4) Scroll down till you find the file cmd.exe
5) Right-click the file and select 'Run as Administrator'
6) In the CMD window, type: sfc /scannow
7) Reboot twice and see if that resolves the issue.
If neither of these sets of steps resolves the issue, my only other suggestions would be to either create a (no cost) support request at http://support.microsoft.com/gp/contactwga or reinstall Windows.
Thank you,
