Project client connectivity
-
18/ذو الحجة/1430 09:58 مHi,
I installed and configured Project server 2007 trial on the Windows 2008 server, created a web app on one of the domains available, everything is fine so far. Now, when I try to connect through a Project 2007 client, it gives me a dialog box that says username/pasword is not correct. I tried a lot of things, one of them was updating everything to SP2, but still no avail. I can log in through the browser with no problem, but not through the client.
The server is located in another state (dedicated server hosted by a hosting company), so I'm using domain name header to access Project server 2007.
I installed the server by using four-part videos from MS website that I finally stumbled upon after fighting this thing for three days. It just amazes me that there is almost no instructions available (or they are really hidden) on how to install Project server 2007. I kept finding the same article about "how to install project server 2007 on Windows server 2008" (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc531331.aspx) over and over, which is a total waste of the server space it's been put on...
Please, if anybody has any pointers of what I could be missing to get this darn thing (getting frustrated already) going, I'd appriciate it very much.
Thank you,
Waldis
P.S. There is no Project Server 2010 in the Forum Category list, like it won't exist, so I posted in 2010 Category...

This forum is for Project Server 2010 beta. Please post in the Project Server forums.

However, to answer you question, did you add user accounts to the project server. You have to log in using the account you used to install project server.- تم وضع علامة كإجابة بواسطة Patrick Conlan [MSFT]Microsoft Employee, Moderator 24/ذو الحجة/1430 04:46 م

18/ذو الحجة/1430 11:35 مI'm using the user account that I installed project server with, and I can log in using it through a web browser with no problems, but the client won't let me through.
Thanks for the link, I'll repost my message there.

19/ذو الحجة/1430 01:47 صI looked at your company's website, I might suggest to use your services to get through this dificulty when I get into the office on Monday. Would that be an option?
Thanks,

19/ذو الحجة/1430 04:21 مSure, that would be great!
Did you add the connection in Project client?
Did you happen to make the site a trusted site or "local intranet" site? I haven't read this to be required, but I found that I have less issues, when I do. -

Michael,
The number on the site says it's disconnected :(
Could you update it so I could reach you?
Thank you,
