OCS 2007 Beta Breaks Outlook ?
-
21. května 2007 12:34Hi --
I have installed OCS 2007 on the same machine running Exchange Server 2003.
After I first installed the system I had to recreate the profiles for many
of my Exchange users because they were being asked for login information
when they ran Outlook on their desktop. (Outlook 2003 running on Windows XP
Pro)
I have found that OCS 2007 services don't auto-start when I reboot the
server (I had to recently because of a power outage) and again the PC's
running Outlook have "lost" their connection to Exchange. I know OCS 2007 is
in beta, but does anyone know of a way to fix this?
Thanks
Rich

Rich,
OCS 2007 and Exch 2003 is not a recommended configuration. Exch 2003 is very resource intense at boot and I imagine OCS 2007 is in contention for resoureces as the both of then are starting their services. I don't see how the collocation of the two could affect your user accounts though. I am curious about you client computers loosing their connection to the Exchange server. Usually DNS resolution to the Exchange sever along with access to the GC and AD will be all the OL client will need to stay connected. Please use the following link to download the Microsoft Reporting Tools / MPSRPT_network.exe
Use the utility on the OCS 2007 / Exch 2003 Server / Windows OL client and send the results back to me as an attachment to this post. I will analyze the information for errors and connectivity issues

Rich,
I have some bad news for you OCS 2007 is not supported when installed on a Windows Domain Controller as per the OCS 2007 deployment documentation. I reserched your Netdiag log and I noted the following entry. I would recommend installing OCS 2007 on a separate Server 2003 domain member server.
