I would like to check, the application that comes with the OCS 2007 resource kit - ImportContact.exe
I can run it successfully if I am under an environment that do not have any proxy setting to the internet. If I am in the environment that is with Proxy settings that control the outgoing to internet, I found that there is problem when running this tool.
May I know is that true that if with proxy, ImportContact may not work properly? Is there workaround on this?
I cannot confirm this works for importcontacts but you can give it a try...
There are 2 ways for an application to connect to the internet, either using WinInit or WinHTTP. The first one is your application such as Internet Explorer and uses the proxy settings configured in there. The last one is different and could use a different set of proxy settings.
You can change the WinHTTP proxy settings through a command line tool called PROXYCFG located in your %systemroot%\system32.
For example: proxycfg -p proxy:8080
