I have a situation where an error only occurs when using the CRM Outlook client.  This is specifically in the area of Cases.

If I open an existing case record, then click on any of the navigation items, when I close the form, I get the following error: "Unable to get value of the property 'entity': object is null or undefined".

I do not have this same issue when I access the same record through the browser.

The case entity does have a couple of custom icons in the ribbon and some light onload code as well...but that's it.

I'm stumped as to where to begin to figure this one out.  Below is the whole error block:

Any thoughts on where I should begin?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

Recently I had some "Funnies" where my forms would misbehave. It was all due to the On Load JavaScript. I was wondering could you disable all your JavaScript on case and test if you still get the same issue? When we can completely rule that out!

    Kind Regards

    Hi David,

I left the scripts attached to the case form, but I went and disabled every place there was an event that called the script.  I still seem to get the error though.

I am wondering if it has to do with the custom ribbon?  But why would it work with the browser client...but not Outlook?

    Thanks again!

    Richard

It could be, as far as I know there are setting where you can just target, Outlook client, offline client or web form! Maybe try pointing Eriks Visual Ribbon Editor at your organisation within CRM and have a butchers at the display and action rules?

You can download the beast from http://crmvisualribbonedit.codeplex.com/ if your interested.

    Kind Regards

Richard, did you find a solution?

I got a similar problem with Sales Orders!

    Richard or René,

Did you find the cause of this error or a workaround/solution? I have it too, but mine occurs on line 84.

    Kind regards,

    Maarten
