Hi, sometimes we open a case for a
customer that has valid contract. But the contract may expire before the case gets closed. In such case, we want to update a custom field in the expired contract line. Is it possible to update the expired contract line? I can use a plug-in to renew the
contract but that will create another contract in draft state.
I am not sure if I can update the draft contract line (of contract) via program. Another issue is that, even if I re-new the expired contract, the system will create a new contract (draft) and then when I re-active, it will off-course put that contract
in expired state, but we will end up with two contracts in expired state. We want to reference the original contract (expired) in the case and be able to update the contract line for that contract. If not, is there a way to merge the
two contract via program? what would be the best way to go about it. Any thoughts is greatly appreciated. This scenario is for CRM 2011 Online
