Do Shared Folders store by sector like the backup??

You are mixing two different technologies, so let me clarify.
Windows Home Server Backups use a new patent pending technology for single instancing backups across multiple PCs - so that the backups for your multiple PCs will only take a minimal amount of space on your home server.
Windows Home Server Drive Extender does not use any single instancing technologies in this first release. But the home server does move the shared folders to the appropriate hard drive automatically and provides duplication (or a 2nd copy on a 2nd hard drive) on a per shared folder basis as selected by the user.
Providing single instance storage across the shared folders in addition to doing all of the magic that Drive Extender was doing was considered, but it was a lot of work and it did not make it into the first release.
store a single copy of each unique

23. února 2007 3:23Aww, I had my fingers crossed.
I want to back up a 2nd Windows Home Server on my first (actually I want them to backup each other....) and figured that this would help with saving space since stuff like pictures and movies would be at both locations.
Thanks for the reply. -
23. února 2007 4:07Unfortunately, WHS server currently cannot be client of another WHS server, so you cannot configure mutual backup of 2 WHS servers. We are working in this direction, but it is not going to be in V1.
