Fire and forget calls in HPC WCF
- Hello,
Is there any way to call HPC WCF service in a fire-and-forget way. Calling BeginInvoke doesn't work, because it requires to save a channel session to the end of the call. I have tried to set OneWay on the service operation, but it seems it doesn't work - after the call is made, nothing happens and service method doesn't get called. If OneWay is actually supported, maybe some additional configuration is required?

The one you downloaded on March is the rtm version of HPC Server 2008. Version number 2.0.1551.0.

You are lucky today. Fire-and-forget supported is added in HPC Server 2008 R2. Try it here http://www.microsoft.com/hpc/en/us/ctp-download.aspx
- Hm, I am confused with all these versions. I have downloaded HPC Server from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2C6DB4F3-B604-461F-9170-43E9CEE062C5&DisplayLang=en on March. This page is opened from HomePage/TryIt, so I thought it was the final version. However, there is no version information in this link.
I've checked version in Cluster Manager on the head node and it tells me that both client and server versions are 2.0.1551.0. - We also have sample code on how to do fire and recollect. Register yourself at http://connect.microsoft.com and gain access to HPC Server 2008 R2 CTP program. Under download, you will be able to get to the sample codes:
