Failed to enumerate service versions

On one HPC R2 cluster, we are experiencing the error message "Failed to enumerate service versions" when we attempt to create an SOA session on HPC R2. We haven't experienced this message before on several other HPC R2 clusters.
It appears to relate to the new service versioning in HPC R2, but we are not making use of this feature.
Under what conditions will this error message be generated?
Thanks.

Sorry for late response.
Do you specify any service version when you create the session?
Also, what's the service registration folder on that cluster?
As a verification, try run the "SOA Service Loading Diagnostic" tests and see what's happening.

This problem appears to be due to some problem within the SQL Server 2008 DB instance. A reinstall of the DB instance caused the problem to go away.

I resolved the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling HPC server on the head node. Hardly the best solution, but it did fix the issue. Hopefully someone will eventually come up with the root cause and fix for this.
