There are a couple files that I want to allow changes to, but prevent everything else.  Can this be done in SteadyState?

Hi, the steadystate could not perform such task, but we can achieve so by set granular permissions for different users in the security tab of folders' property.

By the way,the windows disk protection provided by steadystate can protect those files on the system partition from being changed. Also the function"prevent users from creating files and folders on system drive" in steadystate>set computer restriction>security settings  can prevent restricted users from messing up files in system partition.s

Couldn't this be achieved by creating a partition and locking down JUST the one with the OS in it?

    Hi,

    Thank you for eparico's follow-up.

There are several ways to achieve the goal:

    1.     Add another partition and save these files to the partition.

    2.     Add another partition and redirect user profiles to the partition to save user specific information.

    3.     Add another partition and redirect My Document to the partition to save user specific documents.
