    I've been tryig to install Office Communications Server 2007 R2 on a Windows 2008 Server 64bit, which is also running Exchange 2007.

    But the installation stops when it gets to the Web Components Server, with the following error:
    "Error 26105. Failed to create web application.  (-2147024809   /Root/RequestHandlerExt      )"

    How can I resolve this?

      Installing OCS along with Exchange in same BOx is not supported. Webcomponents creates some application pools and Virtuval Directories in IIS which cause issues with Exchange.

        I had this same issue on two WS08 x64 machines, one with Exchange and one without.  I finally solved it by deleting the default web site, and creating a new web site with the name "Default Web Site".  (Note that the name is important)
