    i'm buying a new notebook,  found a nice one with windows 7 home premium german,
    but i'd wish to have windows 7 professional english.


    what could i do ?
    i found an upgrade page, but would it work with non english windows, and give me english windows ?

    ( btw, much less important question, are 32 to 64 bit upgrades possible ? )

    Cross-language (DE-DE > EN-US) and cross-architecture upgrades (32-bit > 64-bit) are not possible. For both scenarios you need a full version of the desired OS (f.ex. Win7 Prof x64) and you must do a "clean install". If you try anything else, you will get the message "This upgrade is not compatible with your version of Windows", and the setup process will stop.
