Locked Unable To Continue Install - Conflicting Programs

    Hi I had recently unistalled my AVG 7.5 Antivirus utility. Due to certain problems after that i performed a System Restore(the day after uninstalling AVG)

    Due to this AVG still showed up as being installed but would never run. When i tried to install OneCare AVG AntiMalware showed up as a conflicting program. When prompted to Remove this application, the uninstallation obviously failed as the necessary files were already missing. Hence installation was unable to proceed.

     

    Please Help.

      From the AVG support FAQ:

      How to uninstall AVG?

      Click on Start > All Programs > AVG 7.5 > Uninstall AVG Anti-Virus for Windows.
      If you experience any problems with the uninstallation procedure, please follow the steps below:

      • Download the latest installation file of AVG from Downloads-Programs.
      • After downloading, run this file and choose the Uninstall Product option in the Select Setup Type dialog.
      • Finish the uninstall process.
