Multiple SCSI Drives

12. april 2012 20:59I am new to the world of WHS. I have been bless with a Dell PowerEdge 2850 server that I want to use as a home server. It is configured with 6 143gB Ultra 320 SCSI Drives. When starting the installation of WHS 2011 it sees all drives but stops the install because is cannot find a drive of at least 160 gB. Is there a resolution to my problem?

Assuming you are talking about WHS 2011, here are the requirements:
Applies To: Windows Home Server 2011
- Windows Home Server 2011 server software is a 64-bit only operating system.
- You can install the server software either manually or unattended.
System Requirements:
- 1.4 GHz x64 processor.
- 2 GB RAM
- At least one 160 GB hard drive.
I guess you can set up the RAID and provide drivers during the installation and install on the RAID, but not recommended and I would be inclined to buy a new hard disk that meets the requirement.
