Our company has just completed migration to Office Communications Server 2007 from Jabber and several users have complained that they no longer get the tail end of the conversation with a contact displayed when starting a new conversation.
What they are referring to is the way that Pidgin (our IM client at the time) would show the last 10(maybe more) lines of the last conversation the user had with any given contact. This meant that people could quickly pick up where they left off if they missed a conversation or accidentally closed the conversation window. It is of course possible to do this in OC by opening outlook and finding the conversation history or the missed conversation alert, however this is not ideal.
Is there anyway (maybe using the communicator SDK) to re-create this feature?

There is nothing standard so you should do something yourself.
Best thing is to interrogate the Archiving server so that you will always have a reference to the latest conversations as conversation history in outlook may be deleted
