I don't know if it's just me, but overall my biggest complaint about the new messenger update is the fact that while on "appear offline" it no longer enables me to send messages to anyone. I thought the whole point of "appearing" offline was to be able
to carry out normal functions while being invisible to others. In all previous versions this was possible; I just can't begin to wonder why they would make this change. It was incredibly convenient. I hope they change this in the future.
