Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :) As far as I know, there's no built-in way to do this. However, you could create a milestone (called it Status Date?)and show it on the Timeline. Double click on it and enter the Status Date you want. As Status Date defaults to 1700, I suggest you show the times as well on the timeline so you can synchronise the times.
