    Hi Cyber3Cat,

First, Sorry, this is not a 2010 question as this may be normal behaviour for all versions of Project.
If the subtask is somehow interrupted (say split) the split depos not count in its duration.
But it sdoes coiunt in the duration of the summary task which spans from the start of the first subtask till the end of the last one, whether there are interruptions or not.
    Hope this helps,

    Hello Cyber3Cat,

Check the values in your Options / Schedule
       Day is 8 hours
       Week is 40 hours

For example, if your day is 7 hours in your Options/ Schedule and you put 8 hours in for work, the duration will show up as fractions.

    Hello Cyber3Cat,

Actually, I was a little sleepy the night before.  To prevent the fractions, make sure the the Options/Schedule hours match your Project Calendar that is being used.
