This question should be asked in the Windows Answers Forum at the following address

I suggest you to download and run the ShellExView program (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html) that can display the details of shell extensions installed on your computer and allows you to easily disable and enable each shell extension.
Also use Sysinternals' Autoruns (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-US/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx) to get a complete list of all the programs and services loaded and executed at the Windows startup: you can decide to turn off all the unnecessary ones.Bye.
