unable to install Live Essentials over old Live Mesh beta uninstall in Vista
-
Monday, 24 January 2011 1:21 AMTried to install Live Essentials on a Vista Operating System. It stopped and indicated I needed to uninstall Live Mesh Beta. I did that by going to Uninstall a Program and selecting Live Mesh. It did its work, icon disappeared, in short everything seemed to uninstall properly. Now back to installing Live Essentials; I start the first wlset-web.exe and immediately it tells me it can't go on; that first I have to uninstall Live Mesh Beta. Well, I JUST DID THAT. I even restarted my computer and tried again. Still no dice. So now I have no Live Mesh Beta and cannot install Live Essentials. What to do?

I had that on one machine and manually removing the registry keys and files and folders for Live Mesh beta was the solution.
You may want to go to the forum for Windows Live Mesh as I am sure that others have encountered this issue, too:
For discussion of the new Windows Live Mesh (formerly Sync), (as well as the released Live Sync version) go here:
