Unanswered CRM 2011 client - intermittent “Internet Explorer cannot display the web page” error

    Client is Windows 7 Pro and IE 9.

    Every so often Internet Explorer is unable to display any pages. The initial symptom is that you try an operation in the CRM and it hangs. If you then kill the session and restart you get that generic “Internet Explorer cannot display the web page” error.

    Sometimes this can be fixed by doing a hard refresh Ctrl+F5.

    Sometimes this doesn’t work but if you wait a for a couple of minutes it comes back.

    Worst case scenario is that logging off and on fixes it. E.g., I log off my local admin connection and log on as a regular user. That connects fine. I log back in as my admin connection and it again works.

    When it gets into the IE error state I’ve verified that I can still connect to the CRM programmatically, e.g., using LINQPad. So it seems to be IE-related.

    In the meantime, whenever I am trying to create something in the CRM I just save every few seconds!

    Hello... We are experiencing this very same issue. I have roughly 20 users on CRM 2011 and
    it seems very intermediate when it happens. We found that if the user does
    gpupdate /force it will allow them back into CRM once gp procssing finishes. We
    do not have any errors on the CRM, SQL or Client computer showing why it cannot
    connect and it is showing the same generic page cannot be displayed error. Also
    not sure if your outlook clients show CRM is disconnected also or not but that
    happens to the outlook client. <o:p></o:p>

    Hi there,

    I'm also facing same problem, Is there any solution for this. It sometimes disconnects the user from server and ask credentials to login.

    Have you tried changing the User Authentication in IE

    Tools-->Internet Options-->Security-->Custom Level

    We are running a prototype on a single test PC connected to standalone server, isolated from our network. There's no other client PC.  However, the CRM implementation proper has not kicked off yet and in the meantime I've been assigned to another task. I'll see whether we run into the same issue as the project gets underway.

    Hi I have the same issue, but in my case happen because i´m using direct access. Curiously if i use Firefox i can open CRM web page ( of course the page is open in mobile express mode). Can you try using Firefox? Maybe is a IE explorer issue.
