    Hello,

    I have Windows 7 Professsional on my laptop that I bought. I want to put a win7 VM in Virtualbox and wondering if the licenses with microsoft allow me to use my key on a VM instance.

    No.  You will need to purchase a new "Full Retail Version" of Windows 7 for installation in a VM.
