Change Highlighting not working

I asked this question on Linked In and got no answer. Sometimes Change Highlighting is unavailable, it can be reinstated by adding the action to a ribbon using the "File>Options>Customise Ribbon" option but this is to my mind a bit clunky, where in the guts of Microsoft Project is this feature enabled or disabled? This link was suggested but does not appear to offer an answer.

Dominic --The only solution of which I am aware is to click File > Options > Quick Access Toolbar and then add the Display Change Highlighting command to the QAT. From there you can enable/disable the feature. The problem is caused by upgrading a user from Microsoft Project 2003 to the 2010 version. Yes, the solution is very clunky, but at least it works. Hope this helps.Dale A. Howard [MVP]

Dale,
Thanks as always for your wisdom, I had discovered the fix you suggest but was hoping there was a "cleaner" way to achieve it, at least I now know the reason for this occuring.
