Answered Project 2010 to Excel 2010 - cannot see Excel data

    I have tried several times to to save Microsoft project 2010 data using new map or an existing map into a 2010 Excel file. However, when the excel file is opened no data is found. The tab at the bottom used to include task_etc. now the tab in the Excel file is a long string of letters and numbers. Am I doing something incorrectly in the new version? What do I need do to move Microsoft project data into an Excel file with a new Map?

    Boy, I haven't heard about this one for a while. You might want to read the following post which I compiled back in September, http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ar/projectprofessional2010general/thread/2f4f6838-4e76-42eb-8166-c7fea80f3a54. As far as I know, no one ever came up with a definitive solution. However since I haven't seen any recent posts on this issue, it may in fact have been resolved by the latest updates to Project 2010 AND Office 2010. Go to, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/office/ee748587, and insure that you have the latest updates installed. Ignore the "guidance" that indicates the updates are for the server version of Project. Updates listed apply to all versions of Project.
