Project 2010 - Modified Timesheet View

I''ve deleted 2 columns from the timesheet template (Server Settings - Look and Feel - Manage Views - Timesheet) - yet the columns still display when users click on Timesheet. The columns are not active when i check back after the save - yet they are always displayed. I have Admin privlidges.
Also - what is special about Timesheet view - I cannot copy it?
Is there a way to create a new view and have it displayed when all users go to enter their timesheet? How does the timesheet view get tied to that enter timeshet action (My Work - Timesheet action)??
UPDATE: 01/11/12 ****************
Other users are correctly seeing the changes to the view when clicking My Tasks - Timesheet. However - my account (admin) is still not seeing the modified view. Other Admins do se ethe correct, modified view. I have deleted local Project cache as well as browser cache. Also tried other machines.

Timesheet is special view and limit customization. It just doesn't allow for customization, because Microsoft apparently didn't have a way to manage multiple views or they felt like it may corrupt some of the data structrues.
I think your options are either purchase a 3rd party control that can hook into Project server. I haven't seen any that I have been happy with or build your own (that's going to be expensive).
Your best option is just to train users on how they should use the timesheet.

I think we got it figured out. The modified timesheet view will not be displayed in an In process timesheets. Use manage Timesheet to delete any in process timesheets.
