Configuration record as text file?

  I would like to suggest that WHS provide a simple text file showing the system configuration, with the file being updated (overwritten) with every nightly backup run.  This file should contain all of the customization that a user adds, such as a list of user accounts, shared folder names, system feature settings, share permissions, etc.  It doesn't need to be fancy, just a text-based listing of everything in the server configuration to make it easy to rebuild the system if a hard failure occurs which prevents a user from booting the system, such as a system drive crash, motherboard failure, power surge, etc.

   

  Alternately, perhaps someone with programming skills would like to make this an add-in?
