    Hi all...

I am certified in SCJP, SCWCD and SCBCD and I am looking forward to certificate my self in the same path but in Microsoft Technologies.

The path that I took in Java was the Web Path and thats what I would like to get from Microsoft as well.
The problem is that I'm overwhelmed by the amount of information that I got and I find sometimes difficult to know which place to start and where to go.

So if you guys could point me out to:
-Exam names: I saw many numbers and exam names but Im not sure where to start and from which ones to follow.
-Books: Are the Microsoft Certification Books enough ?
-Simulator/Mock Exams: I used many simulator while studying to java. Which ones would you guys recommend ?

By giving me this information you would save me a lot of time.

    Thanks a lot

    Hi Friggs,

Welcome to the MSDN forums I converted from Java to C# .NET before taking my Sun SCJP exam.  If you have read Herbert Schildt's Java books he also wrote a very good C# book.  I have covered all the .NET 3.5 exams in the thread below, and my last post in that thread includes a thread that covers how to pass the C# related .NET exam which is 70-536.

Transcender and Selftest sells very good exams both are from the same parent company so use trials and buy the one you want.  Let me know if you still need help.

    Thanks Caddre,

Indeed your threads were very helpful.

The thing that I understood is that the 70-536 is the most basic exam, just like SCJP right ? This 70-536 is the .NET 3.5 version right ?
Also, could you tell me if this is a good book: http://www.amazon.com/MCTS-Self-Paced-Training-Exam-70-502/dp/0735625662/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1221041022&sr=1-3

I never read the Herbert Schildts though.

One more question, what is the difference between MCTS and MCPD ? Is it so that MCTS I get individual certifications for each Technology and with MCPD I get just one that, let's say, is valid for that Developer path one passed (like developer) ?

    Thanks one more time.

Exam 70-536 is the comprehensive .NET framework class library exam like SCJP but you don't get anything for passing it.  You have to pass another exam before you get MCTS in .NET any platform.

Check the thread below for known issue about WPF data binding in X64 box, what it means is if you are in a 64bits box you need 64bits RDBMS.

MCTS is two exams while most MCPD are three exams except Enterprise MCPD it is exactly the way you put it many MCTS and one exam for MCPD.  My apologies for taking long to reply I could not use the site yesterday.  Post again if you still need help.
