-
Friday, 17 October, 2008 10:16 AMI'm looking to make a start along the certification route.
moving towards SQL server 2005.
My boss is happy to pay for part of this as it'll go towards our company credit for software licenses, but I am unsure which course to go for first.
Could anyone please help?

Friday, 17 October, 2008 10:43 AMHi Salvador,
As SQL Server 2008 certs roll out will it be possible to mix & match to attain MCITP?
For example I have completed 70-431 for MCTS SQL Server 2005 & wondered if I can do the Developer certs for SQL Server 2008 to get MCTIP?
Thanks,
Marcus

It is simple if you are doing BI now then you start with exam 70-445 which will give you BI MCTS. If you are doing all other parts of SQL Server then you need to take exam 70-431 for the MCTS. If you are not doing BI after 70-431 you then have to decide if you want to take MCTIP DBA or MCITP developer exams. If your employer is paying for it then MCITP DBA or developer should add value to your employer. The key to exam 70-431 is to spend time with SQL Server Management Studio and perform Admin tasks with Management Studio. I can answer more specific questions as needed.
