    I see references to extending business processes and data entities but do not see all the capabilities in this area listed.

    57 views and no replies - hmmmm

    I specifically need to find out if I have a custom entity in CRM related to Opporutnity in a 'child' scenario can I expose that entity via the Partner Portal to the partners permitted to edit the Opportunity?

    Although haven't tried it myself but I do believe you should be able to expose the custom entities via the Portals.

    There is no more official documentation for doing this besides what's already provided in the SDK documention and the documention in the Solution's cab file. 

    You may be able to find some information here http://community.adxstudio.com/adxstudio-xrm (could be bit outdated, see CRM4.0 screenshots, etc) but you can give this a try.
