Can I use a Windows 7 Home Premium disk to make my cracked W7 Ultimate OS legal?

Saturday, 15 January, 2011 6:42 PMI'm changing my pirate Windows 7 Ultimate to legal Windows 7 Home Premium.
These damn popups won't go away and at least the Home version is cheaper than before. Does downgrading a pirated 7 Ultimate to 7 Home Premium need a serial number change, a reinstallation from a disk (does a upgrade disk work?), or will it need a total reinstall?

Hello JimmyDs,
Backup your data and do a clean (repartition and reformat) installation.
And hope your cracked W7 disc did not have one of those malwares that writes itself into the BIOS...they're harder to eradicate than cockroaches.

You will need to purchase a genuine "Full Version" edition of Windows 7 and perform a "clean install" which requires a reformat of the hard drive. A "downgrade" from Windows 7 Ultimate to Home Premium is not possible.
