    Hi

    I Have a server and is is Domain Controller, and i installed Sql server 2008 ent. When i try to install HPC in the step "Specify The Location of the cluster database" and you have two choice "Create a new database instance" and "Use and existing instance of Microsoft SQL Server".

    I want to choice "Use and existing instance of Microsoft SQL Server" but i can not, that option its disable.

    Somebody know why this? please

     A) sql 2008 is not supported for HPC pack v2 RTM.

    B) to use SQL 2005 on th head node ( or an exsiting instance on the local machine),  youwill need to create a 'named'instance of sql called COMPUTECLUSTER, before HPC pack setup is run on the head node. Setup detects this and will allow you to pick this instance.
