Windows Home Server Client Access License (CAL)

    Question

  • I understand that WHS supports up to 10 users. Is it possible to purchase additional CALs beings WHS is based on Windows Server 2003? I went into > Administrator Tools > Licensing and it says "to add more license, use the Add Licenses Wizard in Windows Server 2003 for Small Business Server". I could not find "Add Licenses Wizard" but it's probably telling me that I can only use this feature in SBS 2003 and not in WHS. I like to believe that I can add additional cals. I already deleted all the accounts I don't need.

Please advise me of any solution.

    Thanks,

    Mike

  • You're limited to 10 users. If you have more computers than the 10 allowed, you must purchase and install another WHS. SBS2003 or 2008 will get you more users if needed, but your WHS will not. Sorry for the great news:)

  • Thank you for the reply. I guess I will have to make do with 10 users for now.

    Thanks again.
