Error code 0xC004F063

    Question

  • After doing a little bit of research in other people who have gotten the same error code, I realize that I'm getting this because I entered an OEM SLP product key when re-installing windows 7 on my Toshiba. I have had this machine since 2009; the COA sticker on the bottom of the machine has completely worn out, as in the actual product key for my machine is no longer on the sticker.

    I installed windows 7 using the product key I found using a product key finder, ie Magic Jelly Bean, under the assumption that that was my key. So the question is, what do I do now?

  • you could try  OEM recovery media. if your recovery partition is intact you could use that. you can also order recovery disks from your manufacturer.

    no key necessary as it is embedded in the recovery media.

    it's also possible (if you can take a photo of the sticker) to get assistance from an Activation center -
    when asked which service you require by the telephone ansafone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can deal with you.
     
    Be polite, but persistent - they should be able to help.

  • I spoke with the microsoft representatives. They told me, since I no longer have the COA key, I will have to get a replacement key.
