Upgrading HPC Pack 2008 R2 Beta V2 to HPC Pack 2008 R2 RTM Express

    Question

  • Hi I cannot find a document on the technet site on the recommended way to upgrade from HPC Pack 2008 R2 Beta V2 to HPC Pack 2008 R2 RTM Express. Is there a document out there?

  • Hi,

Upgrade from pre-release version to RTM is not available.

The only supported upgrade scenario is from Windows HPC Server 2008 to Windows HPC Server 2008 R2 (V2 -> V3).

    Thanks,
    Łukasz

  • Thank you, so is there a document that shows how to do a uninstalled and install? With the minimal amount of work to keep my current configurations.

Or do I basically have to start fresh?

Uinstall the HPC software off of each node

Uninstall the HPC software off of the head node

Make sure the databases are deleted

Reinstall on each node, including the head node

    Reconfigure HPC

  • Do you have a list of setting that you would like to preserve?

The steps you list are pretty much what  you woudl have to follow for beta->RTM

    thanks
