How to input different Office key after restoring Ghost image

    Question

  • We clone systems here with Ghost.  When Windows goes to activate, you are allowed to enter a different key.  We then enter the key for that machines license so that it is different than the original, and based on the actual sticker on that machine.

I am looking for  away to do this with Office.  We are running into the "can't activate because you've activated up to the limit" messages.  We purchase valid licenses for office with each system and have the keys, just no way to enter them.

  • I've stumbled on this one myself, and have been scratching my head.  Short of buying volume licenses for Office, and sticking with those, I came across this:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/895456/en-us?spid=2488&sid=50

It tells you how to get Office to reprompt you for the license key.

    Hope that helps.
