The video connection was lost

    Question

  • We use Office Communicator 2007 in my organization. I don't know much about how the server is configured. But anyway:

In Live Meetings, my video connection is lost all the time. (I don't have a web cam myself, but others have). The message displayed is "The video connection was lost. Try to reconnect". If I clikk "Try to reconnect", it reconnects to the video stream, shows video for about 15 seconds, and then the connection is lost again.

I have tried to reinstall Communicator, but it didn't help.

  • We are experiencing the same problem with video disconnecting after 90 seconds. We are connecting to a hosted Live Meeting 2007 service from Microsoft. Connection is being made out via an ISA server and a number of Firewals. However, if the ISA is bypassed we do not experience the video disconnect.

Have a look at this post here:

In our case, we have ruled out timeouts on the firewalls, as we have proved that the connection is not being dropped there.

I'll post some more info here if we find a solution.
