Retail Vista Ultimate via Newegg. I don't qualify?

    Question

  • I bought Windows Vista Ultimate through Newegg, the full priced retail version (not the OEM version) and it says I don't qualify.

Here's what the Microsoft Genuine Advantage thing spits out:

  • Hi Ariah,

Thank you for your interest in the Buy Local program. It appears that you are not eligible as you did not purchase your machine from a System Builder, as stated in your diagnostic report:

    Windows License Type: Retail

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or comments.

    Thank you,
