Windows 7 Genuine Copy

    Question

  • I installed Windows Seven about 2 months ago. Today, I saw this message on the lower right corner of the screen: Windows 7   Build 7600   This copy of windows is not genuine.

I searched these forums but none of the answers helped me because I'm not pundit in working with my new Windows.

When I logged in, a message appeared with this link at its bottom: Go online and resolve now. I clicked on it and came to this page:

    http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate/DownloadValidationSupport.aspx?displaylang=en&PartnerID=258&sGuid=75e33136-b7b5-4d32-b64c-20ce68387190

I downloaded the file, but when I run it, it started downloading updates but immediately failed giving this error:  Update installation failed. Error information - 0x80072EFD (0)

and I had no choice but to close it.

What's the problem? Can you help me please? Could you give an alternative link for downloading that file(s)?

  • To put this thread all togeather:

The key being used is an OEM SLP key.  This key only comes in Windows that come pre-installed in a computer built by a Large Manufacturer. OEM SLP keys can not be bought in stores because the OEM SLP key only works with a OEM Bios Flag that is located in the Bios hardware on PCs from that specific manufacturer.

The fact that you bought this OEM SLP software seperate from a computer proves that the person or company sold you pirated software.

The fact that the pirated software actually worked on hardware that doesn't have the proper OEM Bios Flag proves that an Activation Hack (also known as a loader) is installed that makes Windows think there is a Proper OEM Bios Flag present, when it is not.

    Thank you,

  • Your computer has an activation exploit and an emulated SLIC marker in the bios. Your motherboard is an aftermarket MSI board and the SLIC reflects that it is from HP/Compaq. You also have a blocked VLK key for office 2003. You may be able to take it to the store that sold it to you and have them fix it. You will not be able to activate either windows or Office as they are.

Sorry to give you the bad news.

    Thanks

  • Thanks for your comprehensive information, but I bought my computer about 7 years ago and I had really NO problem with NO software or hardware; even the Office program you mentioned. The only problem is with this Windows Seven. I didnt have any problem with my games or softwares, internet, pictures. audios, USBs, nothing...

  • I just looked at another post and it appears that there may be a problem with your key. If you purchased it from anywhere other than MS or a certified vendor you may have been victimized with a key that was sold multiple times and therefore blacklisted.

I hope that isn't the case but if you bought it off an auction site or from an individual you may have been ripped off. Another poster says he thinks this code HrOnline: 0xC004C4A2 may mean that a key has been blacklisted and after looking at a few posts I am inclined to agree. I suggest you go to www.microsoft.com/genuine and validate, once it fails see what options they have to fix this.

Well, that makes things a little difficult.

The key your computer is using is the blacklisted 22TKD lenovo key, it will not work. Considering your region I have no idea how to tell you to proceed.

    Sorry, and good luck.

  • After all, I think that the only solution to my problem is that I re-install this copy of windows and each time I get this message, I re-install windows AGAIN. I dont think I can get a genuine copy in my country... Thank you all.
