MSN has encountered a problem and needs to close...

    Question

  • "MSN has encountered a problem and needs to close. We're sorry for the inconvenience." This happens whenever I attempt a log-in. I blame my teenager.

l'll begin by saying that this is my MSN browser (the one with the spiffy butterfly), and NOT the Windows Internet Explorer, since  the questions I've seen regard the latter.

My question is: Why? I've done a sfc/scannow, and a MGA scan. Here's the info from the MGA scan.

I'm no tech-expert, but I DID notice "Validation Control not Installed". I don't know if that matters.

I'd love any ideas or suggestions, and appreciate your efforts

    Many thanks,

Your problem is unrelated to either Activation or Validation. (If you want to correct the 'Control not installed', go to the Validation site http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate - allow the machine to validate, and rerun the MGADiag tool)
Your best option would be to uninstall MSN Explorer, and leave it at that :)
If you really want to fix it, then try the MSN support at http://support.msn.com
