  • Exactly what type of messages to you recieve, your report reflects that you are genuine. click on start, right click on computer, select properties, scroll to the bottom of the page and wait a few seconds for the activation status to show up. it will either say windows is activated or have a link asking you to activate now. If is asks you to activate then do so, follow the prompts to activate.

THe messages about validation and activation are different, however they can be confusing (cough, cough, are you listening MS). Sometimes people who are genuine in MGAdiag still need to actually activate to finish the process.

EDIT: in office, click on the button on the top left. then click on the options button at the bottom of the menu then select resources, look for the activate office option and click on it. After a second it will tell you if it is activated. This assumes you already have a valid key installed.

Then visit www.microsoft.com/genuine to see if any of this helped.

  • I agree with Carl_OH,

Your Diagnostic Report shows no indication of a Non-Genuine issue.  Is it Windows that is reporting the Non-genuine message or does the Non-Genuine message showup when you open an Office Program?

Note: the report is showing "Remaining Windows rearm count: 4".  A rearm is the ability to extend the Grace Period time for Activate and all versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7 receive only 3 rearms.

I have only seen this once before, so I don't know what (if anything) this means or if it is even related to any Non-Genuine message you are receiving.

However, it may be an idication of possible damage to Windows.

    Thank you,
    Darin MS
