Microsoft Certification Problem

Hi everybody, I'm interested in applying for a Microsoft certification in the summer but I'd like to know first how useful are they in searching for a job afterwards? I'm talking about the Microsoft (070, 071, 074, 075, 076, 078, MBx) Program - all of the priced at £99 (I live in the UK) as pointed at Prometric. I'm interested in either C# or SQL Server certification. Thank you in advance!

Certifications alone do not guarantee employment, experience is what’s required (by experience I mean working with a product day-to-day). Certifications will however give you and edge over those without certifications.
If you're interested in SQL Server and C#, have a look at the following certifications:
http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-sql-server-all.aspx
http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/mcpd.aspx (the MCPD range of certifications can be taken in VB.NET or C#)
