Answered vbscript or powershell

    Dear All,

    I am thinking to learn VBscript or Powershell, but i am little bit confuse which would be better for me. should i go for VBscript? or Powershell?

    I want to chose one which can assist me in my System Administrator Job.

    Please advice.

    Both will be useful. Honestly depends on the job and the position you get - but as a system administrator a lot of your job can be automated by creating scripts (either in VB or Powershell).

    I would suggest learning both, VB is more universal, powershell geared for windows and scripting withing windows. VB will help you overall while powershell will help you specifically in system administration.

    Learning both would be worthwhile however you should concentrate on PowerShell as this is the technology Microsoft is implementing across it’s server platform and the language you’ll end up using more frequently.
