I had heard that I shall receive certain privileges from microsoft on that account....
I havent received any communication on that front yet.... Please advice on what I should do next.

70-536 by itself doesn’t give you any certification, you need to pass one more exam (depends on your interest). You will not hear from Microsoft, until you pass another exam which qualify you for MCTS, but your transcript will reflect that you passed 70-536.
Following is the list of Certifications which you can go after now. For each of these, you need one more exam.
· Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): .NET Framework 2.0 Web Applications
· Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): .NET Framework 2.0 Windows Applications
· Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): .NET Framework 2.0 Distributed Applications
· Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): .NET Framework 3.5, Windows Forms Applications
· Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): .NET Framework 3.5, ADO.NET Applications
· Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): .NET Framework 3.5, ASP.NET Applications
Good luck and hope this is helpful.

Thursday, July 02, 2009 1:34 PMHi Rubel,
Thanx for the prompt reply...
I am aware I need to appear for one more exam to be come an MCTS. However, the test supervisor at the prometric center had mentioned that even though I dont get "certified" after 70-536, I shall gain access to the MCP site & a couple of other such privileges... I was not sure whether this is true or not & hence posed this question -

Yes, Test admin was right. If you pass this exam, you do not earn a certification, but you do earn access to the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) member site, your Microsoft transcript, and other MCP community benefits.

Hi guys,
I used the MCTS self paced study kit to study for the exam... That seemed to be sufficient for the exam... although for better preparation I would suggest that you take some practice tests available online also...
Also, the MCTS contains a few typos / incorrect info here and there... It wud help to code and check stuff that you are doubtful of as you read the book...
'Hope this helps...

I passed the 70-536 exam. For MCTS on Web Development, which exam should I take next is it 70-528 or 70-562? I see both list on the microsft site. -
