I need some advice or guideline on how to achieve some microsoft certifications as a beginner in the IT field.
I am Working from last more than 2yrs in this feild. I have been looking at a few microsoft certifications to pursue. So far, I'm considering to start MCTIP(Windows Server 2008 ) i have not given before any microsoft certifaction exam,just i have done diploma in hardware and networking.
My question now is this : I can directly go for 640 Exam......?

Here is a link to the recommended prepartion material from Microsoft.
Also has the Objectives of the exam. If you do not have much experience in Server 2008 R2 or Active Directory I would recommend taking the class 6425. It will give you a good understanding of Server 2008 R2. I would also recommend buying the Microsoft Press book and going through the book and the labs in the book. Also the practice questions that come with the book are a good way to learn because they have great explanations on why the answer is what it is.
You would then need to buy a voucher a schedule your exam which you can do at http://www.register.prometric.com/Menu.asp
Microsoft is also offering two-for-one vouchers so if you take certain 2008 tests you would get a voucher to take the 2012 test. Here is the link for more information on that.
