    Hi  -

I have taken 70-549 3 times now.  Each time I have  I received approximate 650 as a score.

The exam as been the same exam every time (Prometric)

I beleieve there are a few questions which I strongly feel should be answered a certain way but are not the correct answers.

is there anything I can do get past this roadblock?

    Bill

The test center should have given you a print out that shows what areas you were strong and weak in.  Best suggestion is to focus on those areas that you were weak in.  Perhaps taking a look at a different study book on how they address those areas might help also.

    Hi Charles -

Thanks very much for your reply.  I appreciate it very much.

The test center gave me a single page summary that showed the score but did not break it down further (this exam 70-549 was one part of the MCPD UPgrade test).  But even if I did continue to study further in specific areas I don't think it would reveal any more insight into the correct answers to these questions.  To my interpretation, I answered them all correctly.  Kind of frustrating :(

I remember some that might be the issue - is it appropriate to discuss them here?

(I dont want the answers -- just to discuss the ideas behind a finding a correct solution.  I dont know where else to turn...)

Absolutely - that's one of the great things about this forum.  The biggest thing with any IT certification exam is having a good grasp of the concepts.  If you have even an inkling of what areas you're weak in, ask away.

According to your words ,You 'd better find a teacher or someone experiecing 70-549 to give some guide to you .
Because ,I think you did not know why you fail your exam ,and what areas you were strong and weak in.
or you can attend some trainig  courese to help you reslove your problems

Of course ,this is my suggestion .

    Hope it useful for u.

Just be careful not to discuss actual exam questions word for word. You can discuss the concepts but not the questions.

Other than that, the problem with 70-549 is that is based on previous experience and can be quite subjective. Having completed it myself 2 years ago (like yourself as the upgrade) I found that I nearly always had to think "how would MS do it" not how I would do it. That made the difference for me

Hi again Charles & Niall -

Thanks very much for your time and understanding of my query.

On the test there are questions concering improving the performance of an application.  Sometimes these concern the more lean functionality of DataTables as opposed to DataSets.

E.g., one scenario under concern involves the performance of an application while starting up.  It does broach using DataTables as opposed to DataSets but also offers other possibilities for improving the application such as cacheing and web services - asking what would bring the benfit with the least investment.

The reduced data acquired from serialized DataTables may should bring the benefit they ask for and so I assume that is the direction to take.  But so might a cached solution as well.

Am i I'm missing something here?
