Proposed AnswerTemplate footers appearing in Outlook Messages

We recently upgraded our server to Windows Server 2008.  We use Office 2003.  We have noticed a problem with some outgoing emails since the switchover.  Outlook is tied to Word.  The Word template our general correspondence includes a footer showing time document was saved and file name.

Some of the outgoing emails, after they arrive at emails outside of the company, show the footer in the body of the email message; no information is included in the "footer" it just shows up similar to the following:

    xxx o/o/ooo 00:00 am
    C:\MSOFFICE\WINWORD\TEMPLATE\NORMAL.DOT

Any suggestions in the setup so this footer doesn't accompany emails - it does disappear if using Word as Editor is unclicked - but would prefer to keep it checked.
