    Hi,

The last couple of days I have been unable to sign in to the mesh.  It is only happening on my work PC.  I can login from home.  To my knowledge there have been no changes to the PC.  Some MS updates were installed yesterday but the problem began before they were installed.

The error I get when attempting to login on this machine is:
"Could not sign in to Live Mesh. Please try again later.
    Request to MOE timed out."

My internet connectivity is fine and I'm using my windows live ID for messenger and hotmail without any issues.

    Any ideas?

Hey Kez couple things to try really quick.  If you have Mesh to Auto-Login.  Uncheck it, and clear your username & password from the Live Mesh client login.  Exit and close the client completely.  Relaunch and manually login.

If that doesn't work, please send your log files to:  LMPrev@microsoft.com

To collect them: Start, All Programs, Live Mesh, Collect Live Mesh Logs.
The logs will be in a cab on your desktop called: LiveMeshLogs.cab

    Thanks!

    -Ken

Thanks, Ken.  I was having a similar issue but with a slightly different error message and this resolved it.

I've just installed Mesh on my work computer (I already have it up and running on my laptop without a problem), but after three days of trying I still cannot connect. I keep getting the following error:

"Unable to sign into Live Mesh.
Please make sure your user name and password are correct.

Request to MOE failed with status code:
    500 Internal server error."

I'm definitely using the right user name and password  (as they are both working on my laptop), and do not have auto sign-in checked.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Hi,

We're investigating a number of reports of these error 500's.  If you wouldn't mind, please collect your logs (Start Menu > All Programs > Live Mesh > Collect Live Mesh Logs, which will generated a .cab on your desktop) and send them to lmprev@microsoft.com as Ken mentioned above.

    Thanks,

    Ben.

    Hi,

I removed IE8.  Removed and reinstalled Live Mesh as it was stuck in the "starting live mesh" stage.  It seems to be okay now.  Not sure what the problem was.  Thanks.
