Myphone is about to be thrown into the garbage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sync'd 637 contacts to my phone, I only had 165 to begin with.
- Can you tell me how I can fix this? There were 163 contacts on my phone. Myphone ran as schedule and added 637 contacts to my phone. I erased those and ran PIM Backup to put the 163 back. Synced with my phone immediately, it showed that the 637 were deleted and the 163 added. Well it ran last night and added the 637 back! WTF!!! I wouldn't be complaining if guys had the option to delete multiple entries. Why isn't this been implemented by now? I tried deleting some of the duplicates and it has taken almost an hour to get it down to 469. Screw this!

Hi Bennyj504,
Thanks a lot for using the Microsoft MyPhone and for giving us your feedback.
Can you tell us which kinds of contacts are being duplicated? Is there some logical pattern for duplicated entries? Are you using other application to manage your contacts besides the MyPhone? Any other information about the usage of the service or your device environment that you can pass to us, will be useful in order to understand better the issue.
In order to manage your duplicated entries you can perform a "find duplicates" under your contacts/calendars/tasks/SMS, in top "Manage" menu and it will be shown to you a new list of duplicated entries and in the top menu you can deleted automatically the duplicated entries. Notice that only the entries with more information will be kept.
Thanks.- I was using Dashwire, but I manually sync my info with that service. I have been struggling with Myphone for two weeks. I will delete some contacts from my phone and sync with Myphone. Myphone shows that the contacts have been deleted. Next thing I know, when it auto-syncs it will add the contact back multiple times! Like I said before, you have check boxes next to each contact, why can't select as many non duplicate contacts as I want then delete them in one step. This is ridiculous that I have to do it one at a time. There were 133 duplicates found. I upgraded my rom recently and I reinstalled the app. Being that it's the same phone and account, it shouldn't duplicate anything.
1. Did the "find duplicates" option find all of the duplicate contacts? It sounds like your saying it's not finding all of the duplicate contacts, please clarify.
2. Do you see any kind of pattern for the additional contacts?
3. Are you also using Outlook to sync your contacts?
4. There is a known issue with Dashwire and Outlook: http://dashwire.com/help/issues
"Contacts are getting duplicated Some users that sync to Outlook via ActiveSync as well as Plaxo Mobile and OggSync users
Problem: There are no problems with Dashwire and ActiveSync compatibility, but contacts added to a new or reset phone using Dashwire will be duplicated if a user attempts to synchronize with Outlook via ActiveSync after the fact.Affects:
Resolution: If you're planning on synchronizing contacts using ActiveSync, then you'll need to add your contacts to your phone via ActiveSync before adding Dashwire to your phone. If you start with ActiveSync first, then you won't see any problems with contact duplicates."
Please provide what kind of device your using and any other details.

- My issue is similar, but not the same. I already had duplicate contacts in my phone by no fault of MyPhone. So, MyPhone captures all of them including the duplicates, which is fine. However, it'd be REAL nice if the "Find Duplicates' feature had a 'delete' option too! Otherwise, I have to manually delete each duplicate one by one on my phone.Am I missing something? I can select all the duplicates once found, but there are NO options once they are selected.. no 'delete', nothing.
Hi J Cleveland,
Yes there is an option to actually delete the duplicates found by the "Find Duplicates" option.
After Finding Duplicates, you should see something like "Duplicated Contacts (x)" where x is the number of duplicated contacts. Immediately above that line you should see a link called "delete duplicates". You just need to select the duplicates you want to delete (or select all) and hit that link.
Please let me know if it works for you.
