Proposed Answerbackup contacts without affecting Windows Live

I have a Samsung Omnia with Mobile 6.1 and I use Windows Live for email.  When I first signed up for myphone, it synced and put all my Live email contacts on my phone, which I do not want.  I deleted all email contacts from my phone and it deleted ALL my Live email contacts from Windows Live!!!  All I really want is a place to backup my phone contacts either to my pc or to myphone since Verizon doesn't have backup assistant available for smartphones.  Is there a way to do it?  Thanks.

    Hi rarert,

Thank you for using Microsoft My Phone.  I previously stated in my reply that My Phone does not sync Live Contacts.  This is true except for the case when you have Microsoft Live sync mobile contacts with Microsoft Outlook.  In that case, My Phone will sync those contacts as well.  We're aware of this issue and hope to issue a fix for it in the future.  Until then, I'm sorry to hear you've run into this issue.  Also, if any contacts are deleted, you might want to check the Archive on the My Phone web portal to see if the contacts are stored there.
