When trying to access the archive, I have gotten the same message ("The Microsoft My Phone service is temporarily unavailable due to system maintenance") for several days.  Is the system really down for that period of time or something else going on?  I can see and use all other aspects of the My Phone service.  For example, SMS are updated.

    Hi Traherom,

Thank you for using the service.

Could you please provide us some more info, so we can help you?

In which type of contents are you seeing this? (contacts, calendars, etc)

Prior to this behavior, which actions did you perform:
Did you archive or deleted those contents in Web Portal?
Did you delete them in the phone?
    Any other operations?

Is it possible for you to give us your email account? It would be a major help for us to track your issue.

if you want you can send it to this email address: msmyphone (AT) live (DOT) com so your email address is protected and will only be known internally.

    Thank you for your help,

    Helder

I am having a similar problem, with the same error message after signing in.  However, unlike traherom, I have never been able to get past that error page.  My phone says I have successfully synchronized, but I have never been able to access that information.

I can get to live.com okay, including my account information.  I sent a request for help to that site, but they replied that they didn't know anything about myphone.

I have allowed session cookies for microsoft.com and live.com.  I normally use Firefox, but Internet Explorer doesn't work either.

    Hi Don763,

Could you please clean up your browser cookies and try again? or in IE8 use InPrivate Browsing?

Do you do any other steps before signing in to myphone?

What's the URL you finally get after hitting login? (like sn1-p1, sn1-p2, ...)

    Thank you,

    Helder

I have bookmarked the sign-in page and usually start that way.  I can also go to myphone.microsoft.com and click the sign-in link there.

The URL of the sign-in page is:
    http://login.live.com/login.srf?wa=wsignin1.0&rpsnv=11&ct=1255365497&rver=6.0.5276.0&wp=MBI&wreply=https:%2F%2Fsn1-p2.myphone.microsoft.com%2Fmkweb%2Fuser%2FLiveidSigninHandle.po&id=260027

The URL with the unavailable error message after signing in is:
    http://sn1-p2.myphone.microsoft.com/mkweb/Unavailable.po?mkt=en-US

Note that this does get me signed in to live.com, and I can access my account information.

I have tried several times over a period of days, with the same result.  I just now deleted cookies and tried again.  I also tried Internet Explorer with InPrivate Browsing activated, and got an Explorer error message that the web site was not available.

Nope, IE did not have those settings.  As I say, I have tried both IE and Firefox.

By the way, if I don't have cookies cleared, I get just plain white screen that says "invalid session id".

Well I finally decided to come back to the my phone website and see if the problem was resolved and i can say as of this morning i am once again able to get into the archive section and clean out old text messages to be able to have more space.

Although in the time it was down i did find other alternatives to saving my phone's information just in case another problem occurs here on the website:

Jeyo Mobile companion 2.1 is a great application for viewing all your phone info as well as saving it to your pc.

Thank you to the MyPhone forum staff for looking into the problem and getting it worked on.
